Prayers never die. We can agree with the Apostle Paul in prayer. This may be the most strategic, high-leverage prayer you can pray.

Notes:
Have you ever felt stuck in your prayer life? One of the best ways we can level up is to pray the Scriptures.
I love the Apostle Paul’s prayer at the beginning of his letter to the believers in Ephesus. I find myself praying it often. And I can see the benefits.
I’ve also heard strong testimonies of others who have prayed this prayer.
Scripture for meditation, prayer, and proclamation -
For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints, do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the boundless greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and made Him head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Ephesians 1:15-23
Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving. Colossians 4:2 NKJV
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-19 ESV

Here's the 2nd part of the conversation with Bruce Colbert. He's all about men reclaiming their power, acquiring wisdom, and generating good. He has a question: Why is the Church at large lagging in helping men to be better men in their families, homes, and in their spheres of influence?

It's time to relearn our masculine blueprint from the Creator, train in wisdom, and get busy shaping the world for God's glory.

Show notes:
There is a movement of men today going to “secular” sources for encouragement, coaching, and equipping concerning their masculinity. This includes Christian men. Bruce Colbert sees Kingdom principles in some of these sources.
The question is why does it seem the Church at large is behind the game in helping men to be better men in their families and homes?
And what about their sphere of influence and assignment from the Creator? What can serious Christian men do to be equipped and empowered in a meaningful way?
How Is the Church Failing Men? -- scripture for meditation, prayer, and proclamation:
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion ..." Genesis 1:26-28 ESV
And have put on the new self, which is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created it. Colossians 3:10 NASB
Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. 1 Corinthians 16:13 ESV
Stellar quotes on men who follow Christ:
"The most critical need of the church at this moment is men, bold men, free men. The church must seek, in prayer and much humility, the coming again of men made of the stuff of which prophets and martyrs are made." A.W. Tozer
“Most of what you encounter when you meet a man is a facade, an elaborate fig leaf, a brilliant disguise.” John Eldredge, Wild at Heart Revised and Updated: Discovering the Secret of a Man's Soul
“We make men without chests and expect from them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst.” C.S. Lewis, The Abolition of Man
"Discipleship is the process of becoming who Jesus would be if he were you." Dallas Willard

There is a grace for renewal and regeneration. The Lord's presence brings refreshment as we repent and change. Then we are positioned to experience restoration.

Show notes:
Jesus Espresso episodes are strong shots of Kingdom Caffeine to power us through the days in which we live. We need a strong brew from the Father’s Cafe.
Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago. -- Peter preaching on the Day of Pentecost, Acts 3:19-21 ESV
Repentance (changing of the mind and heart which bears the fruit of a change in how we live) releases the refreshing presence of the Lord – “that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.”
And then there’s restoration. Jesus is in heaven until the time of “restoring all things” – the new heavens and new earth.
Jesus – “Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne (Mt 19)
We know this is coming. It’s on the horizon.
And yet, we can begin to live now in the Kingdom Dynamic of that time when all things will be restored. We are present-future people.
The future has broken into this age. In Hebrews 6 it says we can “taste the powers of the Age to Come.”
Hebrews 6:4-5 (5 elements) – enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,
So this is the opportunity: Repentance >> Refreshing >> Restoration.
Quotes on revival:
We cannot organize revival, but we can set our sails to catch the wind from Heaven when God chooses to blow upon His people once again. -- G. Campbell Morgan
Reformation is a return to the sound doctrine of the Bible. Revival is the practice of that sound doctrine under the power of the Holy Spirit. -- Francis Schaeffer
